New! 3 London based brands we spotted at Dot to Dot
FASHION, Trade shows
Last Friday we visited local show Dot to Dot and discovered these recently launched London based labels.
Dot to Dot moved to a new space and it was a brilliant move. The cosy atmosphere of The Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell underlines the showing brands and idea of the show very well.
Small, personal and inviting. Dot to Dot may not be as big as the Paris or Florence shows but you are in for a treat. And there is time to exchange and share. No rush!
We made our tour, chatted with the organisers and discovered some new brands. Three of them are based right here in London and we want to share them with you today.
Fin + Zee
Contemporary aesthetics, ethically made, playful designs and child friendly shapes. Fin+Zee is a baby and kids wear brand with a small-scale production. Slow fashion coming from a lovely studio in London.
Inspired by the unique bond between a baby boy and his dog. A shared journey of discovery through curiosity. A shared desire for freedom, exploration and adventure. Witnessing all of this excitement, a mother passionate about styling and fashion. The idea of creating a unique baby boy focused clothing brand then started to grow alongside the boy and his dog. And so, Fin+Zee was born!
The brand is about to launch their very first collection in a couple of weeks!
Sunny Side of London
Aysegul is very inspired by her little boy named Kai!
Searching for pure, non-synthetic textiles that are fun turned out to be a difficult mission. Therefore Sunny Side of London was born. With the intention to create the softest and purest yet fun and colourful baby blankets that were also sustainably sourced and of high quality. The result are gender neutral, extra fine merino wool blankets that can be used as swaddles, scarves or sun shields too. All products are machine washable and are the perfect mix of practicality and luxury.
The Italian spun extra fine Merino wool is really very soft (zero itch!) and we love the cute designs too. Sunny Side launched 2 weeks ago and we wish them all the best of luck on their journey.
Rachel Mowat Smith grew up in New Zealand, did an MA in jewellery design at Central Saint Martins and is a mum of two. Her beautiful line developed once her kids were asleep.
Poem Children jewels are gifts of beauty and every original piece is handcrafted by Rachel. And then produced in collaboration with an esteemed British jewellery manufacturing company, championing sustainable and ethical production. True keepsakes!
More trade show reports are coming over the next days!
